We’ve added some extra features including the word ‘exposed’ on one side of each dark slide. Each film holder also comes with a soft case and a handy set of ‘field notes’ for recording your exposure details.

A Film Holder for the Future

The Intrepid film holder is something we wanted to do for a long time. Film holder options are limited, new ones tend to come at a high price, and second-hand ones run the risk of light leaks

William, our design manager, worked on this project for a year. spending months prototyping and testing before making a small batch for Intrepid team members and selected testers to try. Taking inspiration from older film holder designs & feedback from the testers, we're confident that this is the finest and most thoughtfully designed 4x5 film holders available.

it's super reliable and modern, and we have added some extra features to make it easier to use, especially for those starting out in large format.

Making of The Intrepid 4x5 Film Holder

Some behind the scenes pictures from "Film Holder Week", it basically involved shutting down the entire camera production line and the team went to work producing the first 100 film holders in just 4 days, it was the first time many of the team had worked on the product and they all did an amazing job. Each of the first 100 film holders was tested (by me) for light leakage with a sheet of 4x5 film and I have never been so happy to process sheet after sheet of blank film.
